Cinergy Grant (June 2005)
The NKAPC commenced a study of an area in south Kenton County called the South Banklick Small Area Study in early 2005. A grant application in the amount of $7,500 was submitted to Cinergy Corporation as part of their Cinergy Community Success Grants program. The NKAPC was awarded $5,000 to assist in studying approx. 1,700 acres of land in southern Kenton County identified for industrial development for over 20 years in the Kenton County Comprehensive Plan. The grant dollars combined with matching funds and in-kind services from NKAPC will be used to hire a consultant to assist the NKAPC staff in developing a plan for the area. The consultant will provide detailed 3D visualization, design, graphics, and other services that will be essential in communicating the vision and intent of this project to the public and interested business investors.
